Alice Giles

Alice Giles, 85, of Ogden, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa.



Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 25, 2018, at the Community United Methodist Church in Ogden. Pastor Evelyn Lewiston will officiate. Alice Louise Fagen was born on June 24, 1933, in rural Boone County, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Bessie (Brelsford) Fagen. She attended schools in the area of her birth.



On January 14, 1953, Alice was united in marriage to Raymond Vogler at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple lived and farmed in Pilot Mound later moving to Ogden. Raymond passed away on January 31, 1980. Alice was then married to LeRoy Giles and the couple later divorced.



Alice held various jobs including housekeeping at the Ogden Manor, laundry service at the Evangelical Free Church Home in Boone, and cleaning homes. She was also employed at the Dutch Oven Bakery in Boone, Casey's, Wal-Mart and The Closet Exchange.



Survivors include her son, Dean (Casey) Vogler of Ogden, Iowa, daughter, Diane (Jon) Esbeck of Brayton, Iowa, one grandson, Kurtis Vogler, step grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Raymond Vogler, and LeRoy Giles, and one sister, Esther and her husband Harold Carlson.
