Ann Jeanette Sprecher

Jeanette Sprecher, 91, of Madrid, Iowa, and formerly of Ogden, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2019, Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. Rev. Stephen Ude will officiate. Burial will be at Maas Cemetery in Ogden. Ann Jeanette Olson was born on January 3, 1928, in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of Rudolph and Anna (Johnson) Olson. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boxholm. Jeanette graduated with the Boxholm High School class of 1946, where she played softball and basketball, 6 on 6. After graduation she worked at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines and later for Dr. Borgen in Gowrie

On November 27, 1948, Jeanette was united in marriage to Norman Sprecher at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boxholm. The couple farmed north of Ogden and later moved into town, where Jeanette was employed as a C.N.A. at the Ogden Manor.

Jeanette belonged to the McGraw Sr. Citizen’s Center and was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was active in many Church activities. She enjoyed spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 58 years, Norman Sprecher on November 18, 2007, two daughters-in-law, Marie Sprecher and Amy Sprecher, two grandchildren, James and Dane Sprecher, sisters, Janice Doran and JoAnn Anderson, and brothers, Dean Olson and Bill Olson.

Survivors include two sons, Milton (Connie) Sprecher of Boone, IA, and Orlan (Lynette) Sprecher of Boone, IA; two daughters, Lynette (Sergi) Worrell of Raleigh, NC, and Kristeen (Jeff) Watson of Ankeny, IA; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Bob Olson, Gene Olson, and Judy Outtrim.
