Ardis Marie Bakley

Ardis M. Bakley, 87, of Ames, Iowa, and formerly of Boxholm, Iowa, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2019 at Waterford Assisted Living in Ames, while under the care of Kindred Hospice.

A private family service will be held at a later date.


Ardis Bakley, daughter of Sidonia and Albert Tourte, was born and lived on a farm near Paton, Iowa, until her marriage to Bob Bakley. She and Bob lived on the Bakley family farm near Boxholm, Iowa, for 64 years until moving to Waterford Assisting Living in Ames, Iowa.


Ardis is survived by 3 children. Vicki and her husband Jim Hasty of Breckenridge, CO, Dee Ann and Brian Kuneau of Lexington, KY, and Bret and his wife Laura of Minneapolis, MN. Ardis was grandmother to Christopher Erixon of Kansas City, MO, Dr. Carrie Bare of Colorado Springs, CO, and Nicole Middlecamp of MInneapolis, MN. Ardis had three great grandchildren. Beau Bare, Willem Middlecamp, and Madelyn Middlecamp.


Ardis was a member of the United Methodist Church in Boxholm and was the church organist for 61 years. She owned and operated her own beauty salon for 45 years and enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.
