Chris J. Hefler, 47, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at his home in Ogden, Iowa.

Christopher Jon Hefler was born on December 18, 1974, in Boone, Iowa, the son of Walter “Butch” and Grace (DeLange) Hefler. He graduated with the Ogden High School class of 1993.

On May 26, 2000, Chris was united in marriage to Missy Phipps in Boone. The couple established their home in Ogden.

Chris had a strong work ethic and enjoyed working as a dry wall finisher. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, campfires, and mowing the lawn. Most of all he enjoyed the time spent with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter “Butch” Hefler.

Survivors include his wife Missy Hefler; children, Cristina Hefler, Crystal Hefler (James Moore), Colbie Hefler (Jessica Paulson), and Emily Hefler (Dakota Wilson); grandchildren, Chloe Green, Bentlei Hefler Moore, Mia Hefler, Bryleigh Charters, and Madelyn Mason; his mother, Grace Hefler; and brothers, Todd (Ann) Hefler, Tony Hefler, and Robyn (Kym) Hefler, and many nieces and nephews.
