Cletus C. Malcolm

Cletus C. Malcolm, 87, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at the Boone County Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 16, 2011, at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden. Rev. Stephen Ude will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home.

Cletus Cornelia McCaskey was born on February 12, 1924, in rural Ogden, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Flossie (Kirkendall) McCaskey. She graduated from Ogden High School. Following her education, Cletus was united in marriage to John Martin Moran on August 28, 1942, in Omaha, Nebraska. The couple established their home in Ogden where Cletus was employed as a bookkeeper for Ogden Building Material for over 25 years until retiring. John passed away in June of 1972. On April 2, 1989, Cletus married Harold Francis Malcolm at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. Harold passed away on March 11, 1999.

Cletus belonged to Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. She was an animal lover, especially her dogs, and enjoyed feeding and watching squirrels and birds. Cletus was active in the McGraw Sr. Citizen Center and enjoyed playing cards. She also enjoyed eating out with her family and friends.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry (Terry) Moran of Ogden, Iowa, and Denny Moran (Bobbie Landon) of Bayard, Iowa; two daughters, Debbie (Dave) Holts of Ogden, Iowa, and Sandy (Bill) Johnson of Heath, Texas; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four grand dogs. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, John Moran and Harold Malcolm; and two brothers, Herschel and Dean McCaskey.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
