Connie Slawson

Constance “Connie” Slawson, 83, of Lehigh, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Grandview Health Care Center in Dayton, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton. Pastor Kay. Christie will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at a later date at West Lawn Cemetery in Lehigh, Iowa.

Constance Kathleen Larson, daughter of Byron and Theodora (Demitroff) Larson was born on September 29, 1939, in Lehigh, Iowa. She received her education from the Lehigh Community School and was a life-long Lehigh resident.

On December 17, 1955, Connie was united in marriage to John Slawson in Des Moines, Iowa. To this union, five children were born: Mike, Gloria, Randy, Kevin, and Brian. The couple later divorced. Connie had spent over 46 wonderful years with her loving husband, Wilbur Cummins until his passing on May 1, 2012.

In addition to her parents, Connie was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Cummins; her son, Kevin Slawson; two brothers, LaVern and Dick Larson; sister, Jackie Schmeider; two great grandsons, Joey Cummins, and Kyle High-Cummins; nephew, Lenny Cummins and her two step-sons, Roy and Donnie Cummins.

Survivors include her children, Brian (Becky) Slawson of Gowrie, Mike Slawson of Lehigh, Gloria Gochee of Dayton, Randy Slawson of Fort Dodge; step-son, Harold (Ginger) Cummins of Otho; step daughter-in-law, Deb Cummins of Vincent; 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
