Darrell Heck

Darrell D. Heck, 81, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at the Boone County Hospital.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 7, 2014, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Community United Methodist Church in Ogden. Darrell Dwain Heck was born October 23, 1932, in Minburn, Iowa, the son of Alvin and Lelia (Pommer) Heck. He graduated with the Ogden High School class of 1951.

In 1953, Darrell was united in marriage to Shirley Niederjohn.

Darrell started his working career at Yegge Concrete, worked various jobs throughout his life, and retired from the Ogden Street Department in the mid 1990's.

He is survived by three children, Georga (Darrell) Lingren, Jeri (Ron) Newberg, and Jim (Susan) Heck, all of Ogden, Iowa; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Delilah (Don) Huntley and Sharon (Don) Crouse both of Ogden, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Shirley (Niederjohn) Heck.
