Dawn C. Elifrits

Dawn C. Elifrits, 63, of Dayton, Iowa, passed away on Thursday morning, May 21, 2020, at her home.

Dawn Clarice Groff was born on April 11, 1957, in Perry, Iowa, the daughter of Larry and Gwenna (Ferguson) Groff. She was a graduate of Perry High School.


On November 27, 1982, Dawn was united in marriage to Steve “Wally” Elifrits in Woodward, IA.


Dawnie provided in home childcare from her home in Dayton and later cooked meals for the breakfast and lunch crew at Dayton Community Grocery Store Café for several years.


She was preceded in death by her parents, and son, Brandon Elifrits in 2012.


Survivors include her husband, Steve “Wally” Elifrits of Dayton, IA; daughter, Jennifer Gibson; two grandchildren, Austin Ferguson and Tessa Gibson; great granddaughter, Ensley; two brothers, Dana Groff and Sam (Kathy) Groff; and many nieces and nephews.


Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
