Deb Elsberry, 63, of Harcourt, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at Unity Point – Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.

A come & go gathering will be held Thursday, October 15, 2020, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., at Carson ~ Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton. Inurnment will be at Corpus Christi Catholic Cemetery in Fort Dodge. Deborah Denise Pelican was born on January 16, 1957, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of David and Helen (Bartley) Pelican. She was a graduate of St. Edmond High School class of 1976.

Deb and longtime companion Harold Sawyer owned Acreage Antiques for several years. She also worked as a cook at the Dayton Community Grocery and later owned and operated the Stratford Café.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and longtime companion Harold Sawyer.

Survivors include her son Daniel (Michelle) Pelican of Des Moines, IA; one granddaughter; her brother, David “Denny” Pelican of Adel, IA; and sisters, Sue Moeller of Ames, IA, Janet (Richard) Quinlan of Highlands Ranch, CO, Nancy Gaffey of Fort Dodge, IA, and Pam (Richard) Houston of Dakota City, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
