Diane (Dee) Sprowls, 64, passed away April 23, 2021 at her home in Knoxville, Iowa. As were her wishes, cremation has been accorded and her ashes will be scattered on South Padre Island, Texas.
A Celebration of her Life will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton. Pastor Lyle Hansen will officiate. Diane Louise Hay was born June 12, 1956 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Earl and Marie (Beth) Hay. She was educated at Central Webster Schools and graduated with the class of 1974. She worked at Rodenborn Glove Factory briefly after her graduation and in 1975 was married to Tom Olson at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. The couple later divorced. After returning to Iowa, she was employed with Wendy’s in Fort Dodge for several years. In June 1982 she married Ken Sprowls and relocated to Garden City, Kansas and later to Dumas, Texas where she was a homemaker. In 1998 the couple divorced and Diane relocated back to Iowa. She went to work at Electrolux in Webster City, Iowa until the plant closed. She then relocated to Knoxville, Iowa and was employed with Accura HealthCare at the time of her death. Diane’s hobbies were sewing, cooking, gardening, cars, pets, and spending time with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, paternal grandparents Roy and Louise Hay and maternal grandparents Clarence and Florence Housken.
Diane is survived by her sisters Judy (Dave) Zoch of Fort Dodge, IA and Rita (Wayne) Lussman of Fort Dodge, IA, and her brothers Richard Hay of Knoxville, IA, Jim (Kathy) Hay of Harcourt, IA, Darrel (Kathleen) Hay of Webster City, IA, and Tom Hay of Pflugerville, TX. She is also survived by seven nieces and nephews, several great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, and aunts.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
