Frances Ann Jenkins

Frances A. Jenkins 88, of Stratford, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the Israel Family Hospice House Ames.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Stratford. Pastor Jim Mead will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m., until the time of service, at the Church. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Stratford. Frances Ann Bergman was born on October 23, 1934, in Stratford, Iowa, the daughter of Everett and Mabel (Carlson) Bergman. She graduated with the Stratford High School class of 1952.

Frances was married to Duane Christian Bauer. They later divorced.

On September 11, 1961, Frances married Keith Edward Jenkins. He passed away in July of 1996.

Frances worked at the Stratford Mutual Telephone Co., Stratford Nursing Home, and later as a technician in the Boone County Hospital, emergency room. She belonged to the First Baptist Church in Stratford.

Survivors include her children, Cecil Christian “Chris” (Shirley) Bauer of Stratford, IA, Nancy Martin of Harcourt, IA, Janet (Ted) Mitchell of Webster City, IA, and Donna (Mark) Ryder of Kamrar, IA; three granddaughters, Andrea Bauer, Kaeleen (Shane) Stoneburner, and McKenna Mitchell; three grandsons, Bradly (Christina) Bauer, Kelly Jenkins, and Cameron Mitchell; six great-grandsons, Dustin Bauer (Harlie), Mason Bauer (Kelsey), Brock Bauer, Brogan Bauer, Brody Bauer, and Easton Stoneburner; and one great-granddaughter, Ella Stoneburner.

She is preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband, Duane Bauer, husband Keith Jenkins, sister, Mary Jane Johnson, a sister in infancy, Gloria Bergman, and her son-in-law, David Martin.
