Gary L. Johns, 79, of Boone, Iowa passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

Gary Lee Johns was born on January 29, 1939, in Spencer, Iowa, the son of Cecil and Arlene (Kimsey) Johns. He was employed by the City of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Raymond and Fred, and one sister, Gloria.

Among the survivors are his aunt, Colleen Hasstedt of Urbandale, Iowa; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
