Gerald "Jerry" Launderville, 65, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 28, 2014, at St. John's Catholic Church in Ogden with Father James Bruch celebrating. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m., at St. John's Catholic Church in Ogden. Jerry's wishes were to be cremated after services with burial at a later date. Gerald Ronald Launderville was born on September 5, 1948, the son of Paul and Darline (Walsinger) Launderville, in Carroll, Iowa. Jerry's family lived in Cooper, Beaver and Ogden. He was a graduate of Ogden High School "Class of 1967". Jerry enlisted in the United States Navy in 1967, serving until 1971.

On November 22, 1972, Jerry was united in marriage to Evelyn Norgart in Ogden. Jerry worked for Johnson's Mobil and McGraw's Ogden Theater during high school, Sandler's Homes in Boone, Oscar Meyer from 1972 to 1989 and Gateway Center in Ames from 1991 to 2004, when he retired due to health.

Jerry was a member of St. John's Catholic Church where he was a Eucharistic Minister, Knights Of Columbus and the American Legion.

Jerry loved spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid race fan of stock cars, sprint cars and go carts.

Survivors include his wife; Evelyn Launderville of Ogden; son, Dan Launderville (Linda Ashbrook-Nohrer) of Cincinnati, OH; daughter, Michelle (Kyle) Banks of Ogden; four grandchildren, Raven Fjelland, Brice Wilson, Joe Sells and Wyatt Banks; one great granddaughter, Hali Jo; three sisters, Georgia (George) Hogg of Washburn, WI, Carol (Durn) Lindgren of Ogden, IA, and Linda Conklin of Ogden, IA; three brothers, Richard Launderville of Ames, IA, and Donald Launderville of North Ft. Meyers, FL and Mark (Tami) Launderville of Ogden. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kyla Wilson; infant sister, Susie; two brothers, twin brother, Joe and Michael; and one brother-in-law, Lyle Conklin.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
