Geraldean "Gerry" Dahl

Geraldean "Gerry" Dahl, 71, of Boone, Iowa, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2013, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

Gerry's wishes were to be cremated. A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Rev. Gary Hoyt will officiate. For online obituaries and condolences please visit: www.carsonstappfuneralhome.com

Geraldean Sharp was born on November 21, 1941, in Konawa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Gerald and Letha (Bullington) Sharp. She attended Palo Duro High School in Amarillo, Texas.

On December 22, 1959, Gerry was united in marriage to Gary Lee Dahl in Boone. To this union two children were born: Elizabeth and Richard. Gerry was a military wife while Gary served in the United States Air Force. During that time she lived in Indiana, Texas, California, and Nebraska, before the couple moved to Boone, Iowa, in 1978. Gerry worked at Randall's Grocery Store for several years and later at Kiefer Industries in Boone until retiring. Gary passed away on August 30, 2007.

Gerry enjoyed studying ancestry and genealogy, and enjoyed visiting the casinos.

Survivors include her daughter, Liz (Mike) Thomas of Boone, Iowa; son, Rich (Suzanne) Dahl of Shelley, Idaho; nine grandchildren, Christy Thomas, Mary (Corey) Stockman, Brittany Brown, Robert Parris, Sariah Dahl, Kaitlyn Dahl, and Makayla Dahl, and David Thomas and Triston Thomas; one great grandson, Hunter Stockman; a sister, Wanda (Thomas) Martin, and two brothers, Alvin (Mary) Sharp of Amarillo,TX and Jimmy (Debbie) Sharp of Midland,TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gary Dahl, one brother, Jerry Sharp, and her granddaughter, Marissa Jean Dahl.
