Ilene Mccoy

Ilene L. McCoy, 90, of Boxholm, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at the Perry Lutheran Home.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 19, 2018, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., at Carson – Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden, followed by a graveside service at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Boone. Ilene Lucile Cromwell was born on December 11, 1928, in Boone County, Iowa, the daughter of Noah and Frances (Linton) Cromwell. She was a graduate of Boone High and following her education worked as a dental hygienist in Boone.

On March 4, 1948, Ilene was united in marriage to Thomas "Ed" McCoy at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Boone. They lived and farmed near Luther and later south of Ogden for many years, retiring in 1985. Following retirement Ed and Ilene lived in Boxholm for many years. Ed passed away on December 19, 2015. In September of 2017 Ilene moved to the Perry Lutheran Home.

Ilene belonged to St. John's Catholic Church in Ogden. She enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family.

Survivors include three children, LeeAnn McCoy of Jamaica, Iowa, Kevin (Pam) McCoy of Ogden, Iowa, and Loraine Clark of Beaver, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Thomas "Ed" McCoy in 2015, and one brother, Marlin Cromwell.
