Janice P. Anderson, 89, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Hearth Stone Memory Care Unit at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone.
Funeral services for Janice will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Community United Methodist Church in Ogden with Pastor Heidi Farmer officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. A visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Community United Methodist Church. Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden has been entrusted with arrangements.
Janice Pauline Hillman, daughter of Shark and Leone (Frantz) Hillman was born on June 17, 1934, at the family home in Grand Junction, Iowa. Janice received her education in Grand Junction, graduating from Grand Junction High School in 1952.
On October 4, 1953, Janice was united in marriage to Gerald R. Anderson at the Grand Junction Methodist Church. The couple resided in Boone before making their home in Ogden for the past 69 years.
Janice was a member of the Community United Methodist Church where she was very active in UMW and various church roles. She was a life member of Eastern Star and was active in 4-H as a volunteer, leader, and judge. She also was a beautiful seamstress, enjoyed all crafts, loved sports, and enjoyed traveling. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and never missed her children’s and grandchildren’s activities.
In addition to her parents, Janice was also preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Wilma Hillman; and an infant great granddaughter.
Survivors include her loving husband of over 70 years, Gerald Anderson of Ogden; son, Tim (Vickie) Anderson of Ogden; three daughters, Shelly (Dan) Schall of Ogden, Heidi (Chris) Schell of Nevada, and Robin (Bob) Fisher of Oronogo, MO; grandchildren, Amanda (Jeremy) Nye, Tonya (Chad) Curry, Megan (Tim) Duncan, Bridgett (Camron) Tolley, Toni Leigh, Kari (Paul) Campbell, Greg (Christina) Schell, and Karla Smith; great grandchildren, Sawyer, Case, Anderson, Blaire, Mason, Ashlynn, CJ, Ryker, Addilyn, and Emilia; sister, Leita (Jerry) Barrick; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
