Jaye Watson

Jaye Watson, 61, of Boone, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center of Des Moines, from complications of respiratory failure.

Jaye's wishes were to be cremated; there will be no formal services. A visitation will be held at Carson Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden on Friday, July 7, 2017, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Wyatt Jaye Watson was born on April 12, 1956, in Los Angeles, California to Donald and Betty (Hendershott) Watson. Jaye and his family moved to Ogden in 1962 and he attended Ogden schools.

Jaye joined the U.S. Army in 1973 and was stationed in Nuremburg, Germany. After receiving an Honorable Discharge, Jaye returned to Ogden and worked in many fields including Precision Machine and Manufacturing of Story City, Iowa Irrigation Corporation of Kelly, Iowa, Mid-American Manufacturing in Nevada, Iowa and the Chicago Northwestern Railroad.

Jaye loved music and taught himself to play the guitar. He enjoyed fishing, working on computers and anything mechanical. Jaye loved jokes and especially liked watching slapstick comedy. Jaye liked being around his cousins and especially enjoyed when the "boys" could get together. He would visit with anyone sharing his opinion on current events. Jaye was very genuine, "What you see is what you got with Jaye".

Survivors include his brother, Donald Watson Jr. of Boone, Iowa, sisters, Vicki Conley of Boone, Iowa and Kristy (Mickey Lange) Watson of Chicago, Illinois; nieces and nephews, Jessica (Peter) Hogan, Jacob (Keisha Nguyen) Watson, Amanda Conley, and Whitney Conley; five great nieces and nephews; and many extended family members.

Jaye was preceded in death by his parents.
