John Dolph

February 25, 1941 — July 23, 2018

John Russell Dolph, age 77, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2018 at Accura Healthcare of Ogden, Iowa. McAllen Texas was his home until July 16, 2018 when he came to Iowa. John was born February 25, 1941 in Red Oak, Iowa the son of Russell Lester and Bernice Marie (Yatke) Dolph. He was baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Red Oak and later joined the United States Army after high school. He was stationed in Germany with the Military Police. John was honorably discharged in 1964. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Smith in November of 1964 in Louisville, Nebraska. To this union four children were born: Rebecca, Tamath, Jennifer, and Carlton. He later married Anna Luna in August of 1991 in McAllen, Texas. John worked many jobs over the years including: Stans Conoco in Red Oak, Rainbow Lounge in Eldora, Iowa, Burlington Northern Railroad in Lincoln, Nebraska, Last Resort in Okoboji, Iowa, Mission Discovery bus driver, McAllen Monitor, and McAllen Public Schools bus driver. John liked playing slow pitch softball, pool, golf, flea marketing, and a good game of cards. John was a people person, very likable.



Preceding him in death were his parents; step-dad: KE Bacon; daughter: Rebecca Hardy; brother: Robert Dolph; step-brother: Mark Bacon; grandson: Zayne Dolph; and niece: Cindy Dolph. Survivors include his wife: Ann Luna of Mc Allen, TX; children: Tamath Luna and husband Inez of Ogden, IA; Jennifer Dolph and friend, Mike McFarland of Red Oak, IA; Carlton Dolph and fiancé Nicole Bruning of Griswold, IA; and Danella Ortega of Reynosa, Mexico; 15 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brothers: Paul Dolph and wife Aura of Upland, CA and Donald Pearce and wife Kathy of Bellevue, NE; step-brother: Ronnie Bacon of Omaha, NE; sisters: Carol Snyder of Omaha, NE and Mary Kirby of Omaha, NE; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at later date.



Carson-Stapp Funeral Home of Ogden, Iowa and Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel of Red Oak, Iowa are assisting the family with cremation services.
