June J. Miller, 88, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at her home.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 11, 2016, at Bethel Church, rural Boone. Rev. Paul Frederick will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at Carson – Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with family present to greet friends during that time. June Janice Dodd was born on November 4, 1927, in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of William and Vivian (Dake) Dodd. She graduated with the Boone High School class of 1946.

On May 24, 1947, June was united in marriage to Dean F. Miller of Ogden. While married, June worked at the Chick-A-Dine as a waitress. In later years she worked at the Black Knight, the Lincoln Restaurant, and Woodward State Hospital.

June was a night owl and loved to read books and exchange them with family and friends. Gardening and freezing produce was another favorite.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Dean F. Miller of Ogden, Iowa; children, Anne (Larry) Thomas of Ogden, Iowa, Jim Miller, of Boone, Iowa, and Lynn Lindsey of Georgia; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild due in April, and one great-great-grandchild.

Her parents, brother, Doug Dodd, sister, Phyllis (Dodd) Clopton, and granddaughter, Olivia (Miller) Bennett preceded her in death.
