Kristi Ott, 53, of Dayton, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2010, at the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 21, 2010, at the United Methodist Church in Dayton. Rev. Julian Swanson will officiate. Burial will be in the Dayton Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton.

Kristi Lynn Benson was born on September 3, 1957, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth and Helen (Nichols) Benson. Kristi was raised in Coalville and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School. She went on to attend Iowa Central Community College and D.M.A.C.C. Following her education, Kristi worked as a C.N.A. at Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge. In 1979, she became employed by Grandview Health Care Center in Dayton where she worked as a charge nurse, and later as the Director of Nursing before becoming Administrator in 1986. Kristi also taught C.N.A. classes for Iowa Central Community College while working at the care center. She retired in 2003, due to failing health.

On March 7, 1986, Kristi was united in marriage to Carroll Ott at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Dayton.

Kristi belonged to Emanuel Lutheran Church in Dayton. She was an animal lover, enjoyed shopping, and loved sitting on her porch and visiting with friends and family.

Survivors include her husband, Carroll Ott of Dayton, Iowa; son, Jason Ott of
Dayton, Iowa; three brothers, Kenneth Benson Jr. of Dayton, Iowa, Kirk (Glenda) Benson of Clare, Iowa, and Kevin Benson of Dayton, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, and one nephew, Michael Benson, preceded her in death.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
