Marian Timmons

Marian I. Timmons, 92, of Lehigh, Iowa, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2010, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice House in Fort Dodge.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 15, 2010, at the Christian Church in Lehigh. Pastor Richard Laird will officiate. Burial will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Lehigh. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., at Carson - Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton.

Marian Irene Linn was born on May 24, 1917, in rural Stratford, Iowa, the daughter of John and Lottie (Echelberger) Linn. She graduated with the Lehigh High School class of 1935. Marian was united in marriage to Thomas M. Timmons on June 8, 1946, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. During WWII, Marian worked at a defense plant in Fort Dodge. She was later employed as an agricultural technician at DeKalb in Dayton for 22 years until retiring. Thomas passed away on May 20, 1998.

Marian belonged to the Christian Church in Lehigh. In the winter months, Marian and Thomas enjoyed being "snow birds" in Hyder, Arizona.

Survivors include her son, Robert (Kay) Timmons of Dubuque, Iowa; granddaughter, Victoria (Charles) Kotz of East Dubuque, Illinois; great granddaughter, Tabitha (Eric) Rolfe of East Dubuque, Illinois; two great great granddaughters, Courtney and Kylie Rolfe of East Dubuque, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents; husband, Thomas Timmons; and four sisters, Eva Shafer, Susan Engbretson, Helen Doyle, and Ethyl O'Hearn, preceded her in death.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
