Marie Bass

Marie T. Bass, 95, of Jefferson, Iowa, and formerly of Dayton passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017, at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson.

Marie Teresa Kuchera was born on November 6, 1922, in Chanhassen, Minnesota, the daughter of Joseph and MagaLena (Zimmer) Kuchera. She attended Cedar School near Dayton.

On March 11, 1940, Marie was united in marriage to Thurman Bass.

Her parents, husband, Thurman in 1982, one sister, two brothers, and a son-in-law, Ronald Buttz, preceded Marie in death.

She is survived by one sister, Shirley Via of Bode, IA; six children, Ilene Buttz of Moorsville, MO; Viola (Dave) Winters of Highland, KS; Ronald (Alice) Bass of Boone, IA; Allen (Nancy) Bass of Boone, IA; Alvin (Brenda) Bass of Boone, IA, and Janet Bass of Jefferson, IA; ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
