Marilyn Rose Coffman

January 25, 1932 — August 7, 2014

Marilyn Rose Coffman, 82, of Boone, Iowa, and formerly of Ogden, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2014, at the Boone County Hospital. Marilyn was born January 25, 1932 on a farm west of Ogden, the daughter of Amil and Dorothy (Myers) Hasstedt. She was baptized on May 8, 1932 and confirmed on April 14, 1946 at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. Marilyn graduated from Ogden High School in the class of 1950.

On September 22, 1950, Marilyn was united in marriage to Roy James Coffman at Zion Lutheran Church, Ogden, Iowa. Marilyn and Roy lived in Boone and were members of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Boone. Marilyn was a member of Charity Circle of the LWML. She loved her Savior Jesus Christ and enjoyed supporting many Lutheran charities.

In 1967, she began working at the Boone County Courthouse in the Treasurer's Office. She later transferred to the Auditor's Office and served as Deputy Auditor till her retirement in 1994.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boone. Rev. Lindsay Watkins will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Survivors include her husband Roy of Boone, Iowa; two sons and families – Curt (Laurie) of Boone, Craig (Janna) of Independence, Iowa. Three grandchildren: Jonathan (Mallory) Coffman, Des Moines, Iowa; Emily Coffman, St. Joseph, Michigan and Alex Coffman, Ames, Iowa. One great granddaughter Scarlett Coffman. Three step grandchildren – Pam (Jim) Cullen, Spencer, Iowa, Julie Frye and Larry Warren, both of Ogden, Iowa. There are six step great grandchildren. Marilyn leaves two sisters, Rosella (Lowell) Morgan and Rosalee both from Ogden, Iowa. There were several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents
