Rosella Morgan

Rosella Morgan, 83, passed away on Tuesday, November 28th at Trinity Center at Luther Park in Des Moines after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 4, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. Rev. Stephen Ude will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden, Iowa. Rosella Lou Hasstedt was born November 22, 1934 in Boone County, Iowa to Amil and Dorothy (Myers) Hasstedt. She lived her entire life in Ogden, Iowa on family farms. She married her high school sweetheart, Lowell Morgan, on June 5, 1953. They farmed north of Ogden for several years before starting Morgan Farm Equipment, Inc. and moving to the Hasstedt farm west of town. Lowell and Rosella raised three children, David (Larissa) of Raleigh-Durham, NC, Linda (Mike) Phipps of Ankeny, and Phillip (Kris) of West Des Moines. She was a life-long and active member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Rosella enjoyed living on the farm, teaching Sunday School and Midweek classes, serving on LWML at Zion and most of all, her family. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her as much joy and love as she did to them. Her smile and heartfelt kindness will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, Alfred and Lillian Morgan, her sister, Marilyn Coffman, her brother-in-law, Rollie Johnson, her sister-in-law, Shirley Morgan, and nephew, Mark Carlson

In addition to her husband and children and their spouses, she is survived by seven grandchildren, Megan (Troy) Cappel, Ashley Morgan, Mallory (Cody) Bunkers, Ben Morgan, Peter Morgan, Natalie Morgan and Tessa Morgan; four great-grandchildren, Deklyn and Cooper Gastineau, Chase Cappel and Colson Bunkers; daughter-in-law Lorie Morgan, sister Rosalie Johnson and brothers-in-law Bob Morgan and Roy Coffman, nieces and nephews and a host of dear friends.
