Thomas "Ed" Mccoy

Thomas E. "Ed" McCoy, 91, of Boxholm, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2015, at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at St. John's Catholic Church in Ogden. Father James Bruch will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Boone with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Boone Veterans Council. Thomas Edward McCoy was born on March 7, 1924, in Story City, IA, the son of Paul (Pansy) McCoy. He graduated from Luther High School class of 1943. After graduation, he served in the US Army during WW II.

On March 4, 1948 Thomas was united in marriage to Ilene Cromwell at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Boone, IA. The couple lived and farmed near Luther then south of Ogden for many years until retiring in 1985. They lived in Boxholm for the past several years.

Thomas was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Ogden & Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Boone, Ed enjoyed gardening & spending time with his family. He was always willing to help anyone who needed help.

Survivors include his wife of 65, Ilene McCoy of Boxholm; three children, LeeAnn McCoy of North English, Iowa, Kevin (Pam) McCoy of Ogden, Iowa, and Loraine Clark of Beaver, Iowa; eight grandchildren; many great grandchildren; two brothers Paul (Rita) McCoy of CA and Lawrence (Nadine) McCoy of MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 13 siblings.
