Vera Lindgren

Vera Lindgren, 96, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Carson – Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden. Pastor Curt Fincham will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Vera Belle Johnson was born on February 7, 1922, in Boone County, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Ruth (Kincade) Johnson. She attended country school.

On July 7, 1942, Vera was united in marriage to Walter Lindgren in Neosho, Missouri. Vera was a homemaker and later worked as an assembler/inspector at Bourns Inc. in Ames for 14 years, retiring in 1986.

Vera belonged to the Ogden Baptist Church. She enjoyed polka music & dancing, baking, and over the years made many pies for Ogden area cafés. Vera was very family oriented and especially fond of her grandchildren

Survivors include her daughter, Rita (John) Wheeler of Ogden, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Bev Lindgren of Ogden, Iowa; sister-in-law, Rosalie Johnson; four grandchildren, John (Jennifer) Wheeler, James (Katie Blair) Wheeler, Lori (Steve) Jacobsen, and Eric Lindgren; five great-grandchildren, Joshua (Katie) Wheeler, Jessica (Kyle Richman) Wheeler, Kennedy and Grant Jacobsen, and Henry Wagner; one great-great-grandson J.R. Wheeler; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Lindgren; two sons, Tom Lindgren and Tim Lindgren; six sisters and two brothers.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
