Zachary Andrew Murray

Zachary A. Murray, 26, of Glenwood, Iowa, and formerly of Dayton passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at On With Life in Glenwood.

A celebration of life gathering will be held Thursday, August 18, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Carson ~ Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton. Zachary Andrew Murray was born on October 23, 1995, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He attended Southeast Webster-Grand Schools in Dayton through the 4th grade and went on to graduate with the Johnston High School class of 2017.

At an early age Zach moved to Child Serve in Johnston, Iowa, where he lived until moving to On With Life in Glenwood, at the age of 21. He made many friendships along the way. Even though Zach endured many hardships in his life he was constantly happy and content. Bells and windchimes would always bring a big smile to his face.

Zach is preceded in death by his father, Gary Murray, his step-father, Brian Jordison, and his grandparents, Rich and Sue Johnson.

Survivors include his mother, Jodi Johnson (Don Ashenfelter) of Fort Dodge, Iowa; sister, Miranda (Logan) Erb of Boone, Iowa, and his nephew, Brian Erb; siblings, Justin Murray, Tina Murray, and Tanya Murray; uncle, Matt and aunt Sheley Johnson of Stratford, Iowa; cousins, Meagan Johnson (Brandy Storm) of Stratford, Iowa, and Taylor (Melanie) Johnson and their kids Landon, Mylee, and Hank; as well as many other relatives and friends.
