Arlene Herrick, 86, of Lehigh, Iowa, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City.
A come and go visitation for Arlene will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Carson ~ Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton. Inurnment will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Lehigh. Arlene Kay Hotek was born on November 27, 1939, in Lehigh, Iowa. She graduated with the Twin Rivers High School in Bode, Iowa, class of 1957.
On January 19, 1958, Arlene was united in marriage to Ray “Gene” Herrick in Lehigh. To this union four children were born: June, Steve, Mark, and Paul.
In her earlier years Arlene worked at the DeKalb Research Farm in Dayton. Arlene and Gene later owned and operated Arlene’s Café in Lehigh for several years. In 2007 she retired from Grandview Health Care Center in Dayton, where she worked as a dietary aide. She enjoyed cooking for family & friends, knitting, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, and trips to the casino.
Arlene is preceded in death by her parents, son, Paul M. Herrick in 2006, two brothers, Ernest Dutcher and James Dutcher; sisters, Barbara Eldridge, Vera Smith-Davis, and twin sister, Darlene Fay Banwart; step brother, Arlis Kinseth; and son-in-law, Lawrence Mumper Jr.
Survivors include her daughter, June Mumper of Dayton, IA; two sons, Steve Herrick of Lehigh, IA, and Mark (Sherri) Herrick of Webster City, IA; six grandchildren, Eric Harrison, Michelle (Nate) Scheibe, Marshall Herrick, Calvin Mumper, Courtney Herrick, and Dalton Herrick; four great-grandchildren, Clark Scheibe, Margo Scheibe, Kegan Vangilder, and Ezmae Vangilder; and many nieces, nephews.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
