Doris I. Crouch, 83, of Boxholm, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at the Boone County Hospital Hospice.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 11, 2017, at the United Methodist Church in Boxholm. Pastor Evelyn Lewiston will officiate. Burial will be at Lawn Cemetery in Boxholm. Doris Ione Anderson was born on November 21, 1933, in Stratford, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd and Elsie (Carlstedt) Anderson. She was a graduate of the Stratford High School.
On May 26, 1956, Doris was united in marriage to Roy "Bill" Crouch at the South Marion United Methodist Church in Stratford. The couple lived in Pilot Mound for 11 years before establishing their home in Boxholm in 1967.
Doris worked as a secretary at Grand Community Schools in Boxholm for over 30 years. During this time, Bill and Doris also owned and operated convenience store's/gas stations in both Pilot Mound and Boxholm. They later expanded into Paton where they owned the Paton Country Store and the Paton Bar until retiring in 1997.
Doris belonged to the United Methodist Church in Boxholm where she was active in Joy Circle and Bible Study. Doris and Bill enjoyed traveling together with Grand Tour Bus Lines. Most of all she treasured time spent with family and friends.
Among the survivors are two sons, Terry (Randine) Crouch of Lakefield, Minnesota, and Robin (Patti) Crouch of Pilot Mound, Iowa; four grandchildren, Melissa Crouch (Todd Vinke), Garrett (Katlyn) Crouch, Heather (Kevin) Frank, and Levi Crouch (Beth Hall); four great-grandchildren, Dalton Vinke, Makynlee Vinke, Kurren Frank, and Annabelle Crouch; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 58 years, Bill in 2014, one granddaughter, Gretchen Crouch, her sister, Maxine Wilhelm, and her brother, Kenneth Anderson.
