Duane Glen Tuel, 72, passed away peacefully at his home in Dayton, Iowa, on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
Duane was born on October 30, 1952, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to his late parents, Rosetta (Murray) and Ross Tuel Jr.
Duane attended and graduated from Central Webster High School in 1970. Soon after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1974. After being discharged, he married Colleen Linn from Dayton. To this union, three sons were born: Josh, Austin, and Ross. During his marriage, he worked in the bee apiary business for several years in Canada, California, and Arkansas. Upon returning to Iowa, he began working as a painter. Later, he divorced and met the second love of his life, Heather King, and her son Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Heather, and his son Mason King of Dayton; three sons, Josh (Keisha) Tuel of Jefferson, Austin Tuel of New Mexico, and Ross (Julie) Tuel of Pella; two sisters, Judy (Jon) Soder of Stratford, and Sandy Teel of Omaha; two brothers, Dwight Tuel of Lehigh, and Ed (Diane Lacey) of Lehigh; four grandchildren, and honorary friend, Ed Brennan of Lehigh.
Per Duane’s wishes, no ceremony will be held.
