Fern E. Rosenquist, 97, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in McKinney, Texas.
Funeral services for Fern will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Emanual Lutheran Church in Dayton, Iowa. Pastor Joshua Wheeler will officiate. Burial will follow at the Dayton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Monday, August 24, at Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton. Fern Elain Titus, daughter of Theron and Ruby (Mullin) Titus, was born on October 3, 1928, in Marshalltown, Iowa. She graduated from East High School in Des Moines, Iowa with class of 1947. On September 5, 1948, Fern was united in marriage to Dwayne Rosenquist at the Christian Church in Des Moines, Iowa. The couple lived and farmed west of Burnside and in 1952 founded Rosenquist Well Co., currently operating as R&R Well Co., Inc.
Fern was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Burnside where she served as Bible school and Sunday school teacher, visited shut-ins, and various other committees. She worked at Bankers Life in Des Moines early in her career. Later, she settled into being a homemaker and raising her children. She also sold Fuller Brush door to door, took care of a large garden, freezing, canning, and the lawn, amongst the 10,000 other things around the household!
In addition to her parents, Fern is preceded in death by her husband, Dwayne Rosenquist; and her brother, Robert Titus.
Survivors include her brother, Elmore Titus of Des Moines, Iowa; her daughter, Linda (Lee) Hilsenbeck of Lowry Crossing, Texas; two sons, Lynn Rosenquist and Lanny (Joyce) Rosenquist both of Fort Dodge, Iowa; three grandchildren, Shawn Cumings, Ryan and Reese Rosenquist; three step-grandchildren, Heather (Cody) Tanner, Jessica (John) Jones, and Justin Hilsenbeck; seven step great-grandchildren; three step great-great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
