Frank "Buzz" Fischer, 81, of Dayton, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge.

Franklin David Fischer was born on February 17, 1934, in Dayton, Iowa, the son of Orville and Edith (Eikenberry) Fischer. He graduated with the Dayton High School class of 1953. In 1953, Buzz was drafted into the United States Army. He served his country during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in September of 1955.
On October 28, 1956, Frank was united in marriage to Marlys Elsie Lund in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Jeffery, Mark, and Pam.
Buzz worked at the Dayton/Lehigh Elevator and later at Farmers Cooperative, retiring after 28 years of employment.
Buzz belonged to Emanuel Lutheran Church in Dayton, the Peterson American Legion Post #323, the Dayton Lion's Club, and the Dayton Golf & Country Club.
Survivors include two sons, Jeffery Fischer of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Mark (Krista) Fischer of Strawberry Point, Iowa; one daughter, Pam (Bruce) Owenson of Harcourt, Iowa; three grandchildren, Beau Fischer, Collin Fischer, and Justine (Brian) Mills; two sisters, Lorene Baran of Dixon, Illinois, and Mary Hermanson of Bracketville, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marlys Fischer on December 21, 2015, one brother, Warren Fischer, and one sister, Betty Patton.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
