Jaclyn (Burkhart) Opperman

Jaclyn A. (Burkhart) Opperman, 71, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2018, at the Community United Methodist Church in Ogden. Rev. Gary will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden at a later date. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Jaclyn Ann Fullerton was born on October 10, 1946, in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of H.D. and Ada Belle (Barsby) Fullerton. Jaclyn graduated with the Boone High School class of 1964.

Jaclyn was formerly married to Dennis Burkhart. They farmed south of Ogden for many years.

Jaclyn worked for the Hilltop Greenhouse for many years. She later worked as a lab technician Iowa State University and lastly at Barilla America in Ames, until retiring.

Survivors include her husband, Jack Opperman of Pilot Mound, Iowa; two daughters, Lynn (Tim) Anderson of Waterloo, Wisconsin, and Michele (Scot) Patrick of Indianola, Iowa; son, Bradley Burkhart of Ogden, Iowa; five grandchildren, Samantha, Sydney, Elizabeth, Curtis, and Brandon; one great grandson, Triston; one sister, Jenella (Ken) Foster of Prole, Iowa; five step-children; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Thomas Fullerton and Jim Fullerton, and one sister, Sandra Pray.
