Jeff Lindgren

Jeffrey “Jeff” Lee Lindgren, 65, of Ogden, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025.

Born on October 19, 1959, Jeff grew up in Ogden and was a proud graduate of Ogden High School, Class of 1978. During his school years, he was active in athletics and especially excelled in track and field, qualifying for the state meet in the shot put.

On June 12, 1999, Jeff married Deborah (Busch) Highland of Ogden. Together, they built a life centered around family and adventure, raising two sons in the Ogden area. Jeff embraced the role of stepdad with love, pride, and a spirit of fun.

Jeff worked for Fareway for 42 years and retired in 2020. He was known not just for his strong work ethic but also for the many passions that filled his life outside of work. A true adventurer at heart, Jeff enjoyed driving race cars, racing three-wheelers, riding motorcycles and Can-Am Spyders, playing men’s fast-pitch softball, cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones and Kansas City Chiefs, watching NASCAR, hunting, and traveling. Golf was a lifelong love that began when he was young.

Jeff also found great joy in coaching his sons’ flag football, little league baseball, and elementary basketball teams. Above all, he cherished time with his three grandchildren—whether it was watching cartoons, “roughhousing,” listening to Taylor Swift, or sharing ice cream, Kit Kats, or chips, Jeff was always up for making memories with them.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Deb; his stepsons, Austin Highland of Ogden and Mason Highland (Ashley) of Grinnell; and his beloved grandchildren, Hudson, Everett, and Sophia Highland. He is also survived by his brother, Jim Lindgren (Kristi) of Elkhorn; stepmother, Donna Lindgren of Boone; half-sister, Vicki Allinger (Mark) of Colorado; half-brother, Dan Lindgren (Carrie) of Ankeny; along with many extended family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Lindgren, and grandparents Earl and Gladys (Johnson) Lindgren.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 2, at the Leonard Good Community Center, 114 SW. 8th St., Ogden, with a short service beginning at 11:00 AM led by Pastor Rob Ramirez. A meal will follow as friends and family gather until 2:00 PM to share stories and honor the joy Jeff brought to each of our lives.
