Jerry Pharaoh, 80, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at the Ogden Manor.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 29, 2018, at the Community United Methodist Church in Ogden. Rev. Gary Hoyt will officiate. Jerry LeRoy Pharaoh was born on December 10, 1937, in Peru, Nebraska, the son of Wilbur "Pete" and Vida "Marie" (Setzer) Pharaoh.
He graduated with the Boone High School class of 1956, and then served two years in the Iowa National Guard
On November 3, 1959, Jerry was united in marriage to Joyce Marie Miller at the United Methodist Church in Ogden. To this union two children were born: Lori and Jim.
Jerry worked for the Ogden Telephone Company for 41 years, retiring in 2008. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church, the Ogden Jaycee's, had served on the Glenwood Cemetery Board, and the Ogden Volunteer Fire Department for over 45 years. He was a major Nebraska Cornhusker fan and enjoyed square dancing with Joyce.
Survivors include his daughter, Lori Kimsey of Ogden, Iowa; son, Jim Pharaoh of Ogden, Iowa; sister, Linda (Jerry) Carlson of Fraser, Iowa; sister-in-law, Linda (John) Ellis of Ogden, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Joyce in 2009, son-in-law, Randy Kimsey, two sisters, Carolyn Thacker and Sandy Klinger, and one brother, Larry Pharaoh.
Memorials may be left to discretion of the family.
