John E. Fosenburg Jr., 90, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at University Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Des Moines.

John Edwin Fosenburg Jr. was born on February 28, 1936, in Moran, Iowa, the son of John Sr. and Marjorie (Stumbo) Fosenburg. As a youngster, John moved with his family to California where he attended Berkeley High School. John served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from January of 1954, until his honorable discharge in December of 1956. He went on to graduate from Oakland Jr. College in Oakland, California.

On April 30, 1960, John was united in marriage to Rozanne M. Christensen at the Community United Methodist Church in Ogden. In 1962, the couple moved to Des Moines where they established their home. John worked for Burlington Truck Line for 16 years, and later worked at Pella Windows until retiring in 1997.

John was of the Methodist faith. He enjoyed ballroom dancing, traveling, Broadway shows, entertainment shows in Branson Missouri, and car shows.

John is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Rozanne “Rosy” Fosenburg, one brother, Melvin Fosenburg, and one sister, Pat Neel.

Survivors include his sister, Peggy Long of Calhoun, Georgia, and several nieces and nephews.
