Keith Hunt

Keith W. Hunt, 81, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at the Perry Lutheran Home.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Carson – Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden. Pastor Wade Brandt will officiate. Burial will be at Peoples Cemetery, rural Bouton, Iowa. Visitation will be Friday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Carson – Stapp Funeral Home. Keith Ward Hunt was born on July 16, 1934, in Jamaica, Iowa, the son of Earl and Cecelia (Sheehy) Hunt. He attended Washington Township country school in Dallas County and St. Patrick's in Perry, Iowa.

On March 22, 1953, Keith was united in marriage to Vivian Lorenzen at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Des Moines.

Keith was drafted into the United States Army in December of 1956, and served his country during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in September of 1958.

Keith and Vivian lived and farmed in the Bouton area until 1960, when they moved to Boone. He worked at Boone County Implement and owned & operated K & V Tractor Repair in Ogden. He later worked for Boone County in the Ogden shed as a mechanic and later as foreman until retiring in 1998.

Keith was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. Keith and Vivian enjoyed square dancing and giving lessons for many years.

Survivors include his son, Rodney (Natalie) Hunt of Cedar Falls, Iowa; four grandchildren, Levi, Abigail, Benjamin Hunt, and Caleb Hunt; three sisters, Helen Seibert of Adel, Iowa, Florence Salisbury of Cortland, Illinois, and Jolene Welder of Herndon, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Mary Kolbeck of Boone, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Vivian Hunt on November 9, 2001, one brother, Edward Hunt, and three sisters, Dorothy Clifton, Anora Jean Brinton, and Trecile Miner.
