Richard "Dick" Teeters

June 21, 1947 — April 22, 2016

Richard "Dick" Teeters, 68, of Boxholm, Iowa, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016, at his home surrounded by family.

Dick's wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held Saturday, April 30, 2016, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., at the Loren Shriver Community Center in Paton, Iowa. For online obituaries and condolences please visit: www.carsonstappfuneralhome.com

Richard (Dick) Teeters, son of Robert and Marjorie (Haering) Teeters was born on June 21, 1947 in Jefferson, Iowa. Dick attended school at Paton Consolidated and Grand Community, graduating in 1965.

On July 16, 1965 Dick was united in marriage to Veva Ott, and to this union three girls were born, Annette, Michele, and Jennifer.

Dick was raise on a farm east of Paton, and dedicated his life to farming starting at a young age, working with his Dad, milking cows, and raising award winning Chester White Hogs.

Dick played fast pitch softball with the Paton Pioneers and the Paton Mens League for many years. Dicks passion was anything with a fast motor, as he could been seen drag racing the quarter mile to the "trees" and Hot Rod Tractor Pulling around Central Iowa, winning many trophies with countless "full pulls." For the past 27 years Dick and Veva have enjoyed attending NHRA Drag Racing in Brainard, Minnesota. His pride and joy was his 56' Black Metalic Chevy which he could be seen cruising the countryside and leaving a few black marks along the way.

Dick is survived by his wife Veva Teeters, Ogden , Iowa, daughters Annette (Dave) Bojevsky of El Cajon, CA, Michele (Joe) Overturf, and Jennifer (Craig) Fjelland all of Ogden, IA. Six grandchildren, Austin (Kelsey) Glaspey, Jessica Glaspey, Isaac and Kennedy Overturf, Shelby and Hunter Bojevsky. Two great grand children Delaine Jo Nissen and Aspen Glaspey. Sisters Colette (Bill) Arnett, Blue Springs, MO, Ruth (Mark) Smith, Dayton, IA, Mary (Paul) Sealine, Stratford, IA, and may nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dick is preceded in death by his father Robert (Bob) and brother Robert (Bobby) Jr.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
