Roger Lee Womack

Roger L. Womack, 77, of Fort Dodge, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

In accordance with Roger’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date when it is safer for us to gather. Burial will take place at the Dayton Cemetery in Dayton, Iowa. Carson-Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton, Iowa has been entrusted with arrangements.

Roger Lee Womack, son of Homer and Dorothy (Polen) Womack was born on July 16, 1943 in Hampton, Iowa. Roger graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1962 where he was the Captain of the Football and Wrestling team. He won the first High School Dave Hardy Conference Championship. He and his best friend Dave Long were also known to create mischief. He earned his Associates Degree from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. Following his education, Roger served in the United States Army until his honorable discharge in 1968. On August 11, 1972, Roger was united in marriage to Paula Marie Forsberg at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Dayton. The couple lived in Illinois for 20 years where he was employed at Farmland Industries in Muscatine, IA before moving back to Fort Dodge. Throughout his life he enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Dorothy, and his step father Gregg Elkin. Survivors include his loving wife, Paula Womack of Fort Dodge; his daughter, Karla (Marvin) Hall of Hoffman Estates, IL; one granddaughter, Brittany Hall of Elk Grove, IL; one grandson, Brandon Hall of Hoffman Estates, IL; two sisters, Darlene (Richard) Lindner of Fort Dodge and their children Wade (Cindy) Lindner & Family, Tina (Doug) Zieman & Family, Rae Ann (Jim) Rodamaker & Family, Brian (Darlene) Lindner & Family; second sister Janice (Thomas) Lindner of Clear Lake, IA and their children Michael Linder & Family, Theresa (Michael) Johnson and family, Janel (Harvey) Grossinger and Family, Angela (Terry) Galli and Family: and many other nieces and nephews.
