Susan J. Johnson, 72, of Dayton, Iowa, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021, at Stratford Specialty Care.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Carson ~ Stapp Funeral Home in Dayton. Pastor Kay. Christie will officiate. A come & go visitation will be Wednesday, January 13, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Carson ~ Stapp Funeral Home. Burial will be at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery in Dayton. Susan Jane Johnson was born on October 27, 1948, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of Virgil and Charyls (Brennan) Cahill. Susan graduated with the Fort Dodge Senior High School class of 1966, and furthered her education at I.C.C.C. in Fort Dodge, obtaining her LPN certificate.

In 1968, she was united in marriage to Richard Leroy Johnson in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The couple established their home in Dayton in 1973.

Susan worked as an LPN at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge and Grandview Health Care Center in Dayton. She had also worked at Buckley & Busch in Dayton and Gates Rubber Company in Boone.

Susan hobbies included painting and gardening. She also loved horses and time spent with family.

Survivors include her children, Matt (Sheley) Johnson of Stratford, IA, Jodi Johnson of Harcourt, IA, and Christopher Johnson; four grandchildren, Meagan, Taylor, Miranda, and Zachary; two great-grandchildren, Mylee Marie and Hank; one sister, Donna (Jim) Clagett of Woolstock, IA; her brother, Mark (Sherri) Cahill of Rolfe, IA; one niece and many nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Richard Johnson.
