Timothy Jon Riddle

January 4, 1964 — November 18, 2021

Timothy J. Riddle, 57, of Independence, Missouri, passed away at his home on Thursday, November 18, 2021.

Timothy Jon Riddle, son of Cliffton and Colleen (Brower) Riddle-Vest was born on January 4, 1964 in Lakeland, Florida. Tim grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School with the class of 1983. Over the years, Tim has lived in the Ogden area, Arkansas and most recently in Independence, Missouri, where he cared for his mother and stepfather in their final years of life.

In 1986, Tim married Michelle Gordon (Allaire). They raised their sons, Tyler & Travis, in Ogden. They divorced in 2007. Tim met his current wife, Wendy Endres, in the summer of 20ll, and they were married on November 13, 2011 in Nevada, Iowa. They recently celebrated 10 years of marriage.

One of his greatest passions was wrestling, starting at a young age. He was the first Ogden wrestler to go to sectionals, districts, and on to qualify for the State tournament his senior year of high school. He went on to coach for many years in both the Ogden and Boone school districts, spending over 30 years impacting countless lives. Tim's end of season award ceremonies were always a big hit, with no one walking away empty-handed. With Coach Riddle, there truly was no one left behind. He found strength and talent in every one of his wrestlers. He encouraged and motivated young men to become the absolute best versions of themselves, and made sure each of them felt like a champion.

Tim was larger than life with a heart of gold. He helped anyone he could, constantly giving of himself. There was nothing he wouldn't do to carry someone else’s burden.

As a sports enthusiast he enjoyed attending Iowa football games and wrestling meets with his boys and friends. Tim loved to make people laugh, often by playing a light-hearted practical joke. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. His two sons were his world, and he would tell anyone that would listen about them. He was an extremely proud father, and a new grandfather this year. He was certain that he would have his grandson, Easton, wrestling as soon as he could walk. He teased his nieces and nephews endlessly, and was lovingly referred to as 'Uncle Buck' on several occasions. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill Riddle and Scott Riddle; and his sister, Kris Martinez.

Survivors include his wife, Wendy Riddle of Independence, MO; sons, Tyler (Erik Melloy) Riddle of Coralville, IA, and Travis Riddle of Ogden, IA; grandson, Easton Riddle-Melloy of Coralville; brothers, Michael (Shelley) Riddle, Mark Riddle, Rick Christiansen, and Dennis (Kathy) Christiansen; sister, Teri (Troy) Bradbury; and numerous nieces and nephews.
